“Sommerfugledalen – et requiem” (eng. “The Valley of the Butterflies – A Requiem”), was a site specific performance exploring the theme of biodiversity, butterflies and threatened spieces, combining science, art, and creativity in a cross-over proces with artists, biologists, teachers, and a class of 4th grade children. The performance was the outcome of a one week laboratory in September 2020, in the beautiful nature surrounding Gjern school, Silkeborg, Denmark.
The title “The Valley of the Butterflies – A Requiem”, is referring to a crown of sonnets by the famous Danish poet Inger Christensen.
