Den Stundesløse is one of Ludvig Holberg’s most well-known comedies of character.
The relentlessly busy Vielgeschrey is so preoccupied with his affairs that he never manages to accomplish anything at all – least of all what matters most: life itself. Overwhelmed by his own busyness, Vielgeschrey is forced to confront a crucial question: can he be saved, or is he condemned to a life of constant haste?
Den Stundesløse is a story about the hurried, stressed, and restless human being – and although the comedy is nearly 300 years old, it draws striking parallels to modern life.
